Santa is back, and he is not checking his list twice. Cineverse has released the official trailer and key art for Silent Night, Deadly Night, a chilling new reimagining of the controversial 1984 cult classic horror film. Written and directed by Mike P. Nelson, the film will slash its way into theaters on December 12, 2025.
In this twisted reimagining of the holiday horror staple, Billy witnesses the brutal murder of his parents on Christmas Eve and grows up to become a killer Santa, bringing his own brand of punishment to the naughty each year. This time, his blood-soaked mission takes a dark turn when he crosses paths with a young woman who challenges him to confront his past.
The chilling tagline says it all: Have you been naughty?

The film stars Rohan Campbell, Ruby Modine, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson. Silent Night, Deadly Night is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson and produced by Scott Schneid, Dennis Whitehead, Jame R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, Jeremy Torrie, and Tanya Brunel. Executive producers include Yolanda Macias, Erick Opeka, Steven Schneider, Jed Benedict, Brad Miska, Brandon Hill, Anthony Masi, Victor Zimmerman, Sarah Eilts, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, and Grady Craig.
The original 1984 film became infamous for its graphic violence and shocking imagery of a killer dressed as Santa Claus. Now, more than forty years later, Cineverse aims to deliver a modern take that honors the cult classic’s controversial roots while expanding its mythology for a new generation of horror fans.
The release of Silent Night, Deadly Night marks another major addition to Cineverse Motion Pictures Group’s rapidly growing slate.
