"RADIO RENTAL" Horror Podcast Gets LEGO-Inspired Stop Motion Film "LAURA OF THE WOODS"
A popular story from the hit horror podcast Radio Rental has been adapted into a chilling stop-motion short film. LAURA OF THE WOODS premiered October 22 on YouTube, bringing the viral tale to life through handcrafted LEGO-inspired animation.
Directed by Kristian Stenslie of Twisted Bricks, the 10-minute film follows a young boy whose day exploring the woods takes a disturbing turn when he encounters a mysterious girl with unclear intentions.
The original story has generated more than 3 million downloads on Radio Rental, the horror podcast created by Payne Lindsey. Since launching in 2019, the series has surpassed 85 million downloads with its collection of bizarre crimes, paranormal encounters, and unexplained events told by the people who experienced them.
The podcast blends firsthand horror stories with dark comedy, framed inside a fictional 1980s video rental store. Its latest season premiered October 23, featuring the return of actor and comedian Tony Cavalero (The Righteous Gemstones) as Vince.
For fans of independent horror and practical animation, LAURA OF THE WOODS offers a unique visual adaptation of one of the podcast's most unsettling stories.
