Majestic Rep Celebrates Tenth Birthday with Gala Fundraiser

Ten years, hundreds of artists, countless gallons of stage blood, sweat and glitter, and somehow, Majestic Repertory Theatre is still here.
Las Vegas’ celebrated independent theatre company will celebrate its 10th Birthday with a special fundraising cabaret on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m., hosted by Broadway veteran Brent Barrett, known for his starring roles in 'Grand Hotel' and 'The Phantom of the Opera'.
The one-night-only celebration will look back at a decade of productions that helped establish Majestic Rep as one of Las Vegas’ most adventurous and unconventional performing arts organizations. The evening will feature musical numbers and performances inspired by shows from the company’s first ten years — beginning with 'Little Shop of Horrors' and continuing through the productions, performers and theatrical moments that have defined Majestic Rep’s history.
And because no birthday party is complete without a little competitive spending, the evening will also feature a silent auction with exclusive experiences and one-of-a-kind opportunities available to attendees.
Hors d’oeuvres will be provided, with a celebratory evening designed to bring together the artists, audiences, supporters and friends who have made the company’s unlikely decade possible.
TEN YEARS OF MAKING IT HAPPEN
Founded with the belief that great theatre doesn't require a giant budget, a Broadway address or permission from anyone, Majestic Rep has spent the past decade creating ambitious work in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.
The company has built a reputation for producing theatre that is irreverent, immersive, genre-bending and unapologetically independent — often taking risks that larger institutions simply can't.
From intimate storefront productions to nationally and internationally recognized work, Majestic Rep has demonstrated what an independent theatre company can accomplish with limited resources, a relentless creative spirit and an audience willing to come along for the ride.
"Ten years is a pretty remarkable achievement for an independent theatre company," says Majestic Rep Artistic Director Troy Heard. "We've survived because artists kept showing up, audiences kept showing up, and our community believed that there should be a place in Las Vegas for theatre that takes big swings. This celebration is about honoring everyone who got us here — and making sure we're still taking those swings ten years from now."

Proceeds will help Majestic Rep continue producing adventurous theatre, providing opportunities for artists and keeping independent, locally produced performing arts alive in Las Vegas.
