Cyber Monday Deal: Hollywood Legion Theater

By John Duarte

If you know me by now, you should know I love the movie theater-going experience. But unfortunately, I haven’t or no one has been to a movie theater since March of this year. Luckily, Drive-Ins all over Southern California have been doing gangbusters since May showing classic movies as well as newer independent movies and sometimes showing the latest Hulu or Netflix film 2 weeks before it hits streaming. But a lot of these Drive-In theaters are a little ways out such as Paramount, Montclair, and Chino Hills. Nothing that close to the heart of Hollywood….Until Now!

A few months ago the HOLLYWOOD LEGION THEATER opened up their parking lot and turned it into a Drive-in. Finally!, a Drive-In that’s super close. The parking lot fits 30 cars and is perfectly spread out so every spot is the perfect spot to watch a movie under the stars. The projector is a high-quality film projector that shines bright and it’s probably the best whatever film they’re projecting. For instance, I went to two Drive-In screenings. One of them being Roman Polanski’s “Rosemary’s Baby”. I haven’t seen this movie in years and Wow!, It’s never looked this good. The other film was “Robocop” and Robocop himself Peter Weller came with his son to introduce the screening. Honestly, You’ll never know who’ll show up at the Hollywood Legion Drive-In.

Now, the price starts at $65 dollars for a car up to 2 people. You may think it’s a little pricey but If you do have someone going with you, this is what you get with the ticket: Unlimited popcorn, 2 sodas, and 2 theater-sized candy. Once you get to the theater,

they’ll take your order and then they’ll guide you to your spot and they will take care of the rest. They have amazing service and they bring out your order to your car. If you don’t have a working radio in your car to listen to the movie, They have that covered for you as well. Both times I’ve gone, I was very satisfied with the service and especially how bright the screen and projector were.

Since this is Cyber Monday, They have a special offer for today until midnight tonight. This Thursday they’re screening Ron Howard’s “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” starring Jim Carrey. If you want to attend the screening, Use the discount code CYBERGRINCH at checkout for 20% off your ticket.
