Creepy Kingdom Partners With Rogue Studios to Offer 50% Filmmaking Program Scholarship
Creepy Kingdom is excited to partner with Rogue Studios to offer our community a special opportunity for aspiring and working filmmakers looking to expand their skills behind the camera.
Rogue Studios is a female-owned studio that has spent more than a decade supporting the film and acting communities, with an emphasis on creating a safe environment for training and helping build greater diversity within the film industry.
Through our partnership, femme-identifying and nonbinary filmmakers can apply for a special Creepy Kingdom 50% scholarship toward Rogue Studios’ eight-week online filmmaking program.
The program is completely online, making it accessible to filmmakers regardless of where they are located. Classes take place Sundays from 10 AM to 1 PM PT, with each week exploring a different area of filmmaking through expert guest instructors.
Each class is moderated by a successful female director who provides a director’s perspective on that week’s department, while the guest instructor dives into their particular area of expertise. Students also have opportunities for discussions and to ask questions during each class.
The program is designed for filmmakers preparing to make their first short film, filmmakers looking to transition from shorts to features, and people already working in the industry who want to better understand departments outside their own area of expertise. No previous filmmaking experience is required to apply for the scholarship.
The Fall program began September 27, so the first class has already taken place. However, Rogue Studios has extended the Creepy Kingdom scholarship application deadline through October 2, giving our community a little more time to take advantage of the opportunity and join the remaining online sessions.
Rogue Studios is based in Canada, so U.S. participants may also benefit from the exchange rate when paying program fees.
