Halloween Time 2026 Arrives at Disneyland Resort

Halloween Time has officially returned to Disneyland Resort, and Creepy Kingdom was there on the first day of the 2026 season to see the parks transform for the best time of year.
James H. Carter II headed to Disney California Adventure and Disneyland on August 21 to experience as much Halloween as possible in one night. The evening included Halloween decorations, seasonal food, characters, Halloween Screams, a visit to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and a late night ride on Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Disney California Adventure was the first stop, where Buena Vista Street was filled with vintage inspired Halloween details and Cars Land once again received its elaborate Haul O Ween transformation. While Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark did not make the night's itinerary due to its wait time, there was still plenty of Halloween atmosphere to explore throughout the park.
Cars Land remains one of the highlights of Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort. The land goes all in on seasonal decorations, transforming Radiator Springs with spooky automotive details throughout the area. There was one unfortunate discovery this year, however. The beloved zombie car was nowhere to be found on opening night.
The night continued with Halloween Screams at Disneyland before a quick trip to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to see its annual Halloween edible display. The display was still being completed during the visit, meaning another trip will be necessary to see the finished creation. Back inside Disneyland, there were Halloween character encounters and a stop at the Halloween Tree before heading toward the evening's main event, Haunted Mansion Holiday.
The attraction had a posted 55 minute wait shortly before midnight, but no first-day visit would be complete without seeing what Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloween Town have done to the mansion. This year's new gingerbread house was once again one of the highlights. Opening day was only the beginning.
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort gives us plenty more to explore throughout the season, from attractions and characters to food, merchandise, decorations, and experiences that were not available or completed during this first night.
For Creepy Kingdom, the first day of Halloween at Disneyland remains one of the best days of the year. As James puts it in the video, it might even beat Halloween itself because the resort is still completely committed to spooky season before Christmas begins creeping into the parks.
