American Horror Story: 1984 - “Slashdance” Recap

by Twisted Tori

AHS: 1984 seems to be a hit among fans and after watching episode 3 – SLASHDANCE – I’m loving every minute of this 80s throwback. There’s a bloodbath currently happening at Camp Redwood. With the Nightstalker and Mr. Jingles on the loose…no is safe, but they’re not the only deadly psychos in the area. Yes, not everyone is who they appear to be, and they are thoroughly enjoying this game of cat and mouse all too much.

As the death toll rises, more and more secrets are revealed. We also find out who is weak, who is brave, who is out for themselves, who is ready to play the hero, and more.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, John Carroll Lynch plays the perfect bad guy and Mr. Jingles may be his best character yet. In SLASHDANCE, we get to be up close and personal with Mr. Jingles and learn more about his past, why he is the way he is, and more. Did he turn mad because of all the corn syrup he ingested over the years? Was it porn and the objectification of women? Find out.

Meanwhile, Angelica Ross truly shines in this episode and I couldn’t get enough of her performance. We need more of her on screen that’s for bloody sure!

Daryl Hall and John Oates’ hit song, Maneater, makes the perfect appearance in SLASHDANCE. They’re really killing it with the music this season and that makes my inner 80s girl scream with joy!

This may just be my favorite episode yet. So much is revealed yet there’s so much more to learn. What are you thinking about AHS 1984 so far? Is it living up to its hype? Let me know and stay tuned for another recap next week!
