Inspired by a contact experience during a sound bath meditation at The Integration, Sound Mind and Body explores the intersection of altered consciousness, healing, and the unknown. Immersed in dissonant binaural frequencies, the artist entered a profound meditative state and experienced an out-of-body journey in which she observed herself lying upon an operating table while three mantis-like intelligences conducted what appeared to be a healing procedure. Communicating directly with her psyche, the beings conveyed that they were addressing ailments of the gastrointestinal system.

Upon returning to ordinary awareness at the conclusion of the session, the artist felt deeply refreshed. Coincidentally, longstanding symptoms associated with acid reflux had noticeably diminished. Neither dream nor diagnosis, Sound Mind and Body occupies the liminal territory between vision and reality, transforming a deeply personal experience into a modern ex-voto devoted to healing, consciousness, and the enduring mystery of what—or who—may exist just beyond ordinary perception.
